LARGE Vintage POLISH 800 Silver Virgin Mary Shield Religious Medal Wall Hanging Our Lady of Czestochowa

Image
Large vintage shield featuring the Virgin Mary - or Our Lady of Czestochowa. I read somewhere some time ago that these may have been hung in the nursery. This wall hanging is beautiful- it measures approximately 2 & 1/2 inches tall. The back is hallmarked with Poland and the symbols for 800 silver in the right cartouche and an A in the left cartouche. It is likely this shield dates from the 1920s to early 1930s. Here is a link to Polish silver hallmarks. http://www.925-1000.com/Fpoland_marks_1.html
